Fall is here or as I like to call it Autumn – it sounds more peaceful.
As soon as October comes around, if not sooner depending on the weather – hibernation begins! Days get shorter and with less sunlight trees get ready and hunker down for winter – leaves change colours and then fall to ensure they survive the coming winter.
We’ve had an exceptionally warm September – don’t let that fool you – winter is around the corner. Take notice from the trees around your home – once the leaves fall it’s time to:
- Schedule a furnace, fireplace and any other heating source check up and cleaning – don’t wait as you don’t want any surprises!
- Clean eaves troughs/gutters and clear all down spouts.
- Turn off exterior water, remove hoses and store inside. If you have in ground sprinklers arrange to have them blown out.
- Check Windows and seal any obvious drafts to keep warm!
Next on the list is “
Spring Autumn Cleaning” – with winter coming it makes sense to move back in to a clean, comfortable house! Turkey, sweaters, blankets and soup are on the way…
